Collaborate! Why working with others is essential for your success, by Kathleen Wright, CEO of SubUrban Co-working Kathleen is a compulsive connector and collaborator. She believes that we achieve much more as communities and businesses by actively seeking to share, work and learn with others. In this session Kathleen will share the principles of good connecting and collaboration; what she has learnt by running great collaborative projects (and by making mistakes!), and some practical “how to’s" for women to apply to their businesses and projects. Kathleen Wright is co-founder of the social enterprise SubUrban Co-Working - a local workplace, enterprise community and community project activator whose mission is to enable a network of collaborative community-run spaces throughout the Wellington region. Over the past 30 years Kathleen has worked in a number of countries and in a huge diversity of roles including historic sailing ship manager, neighbourhood mediator, social housing policy analyst, property valuer and commercial property manager/developer, early childhood centre manager, corporate merger lead, city regeneration manager and software startup manager. She has set up a number of not-for-profit projects including a successful community-run science learning space. Kathleen lives in Ngaio, Wellington with her 3 children aged 11, 13 and 15 and her husband who comes from Wales.
